About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Special Operations Command, DCS, G-3, Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Manage designated MACOM level specialized intelligence programs to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures and to achieve mission-based goals and objectives. Serve as the staff action officer for the MACOM for unique applications of designated specialized intelligence programs. Develop and applies innovative intelligence approaches to specialized operational requirements and activities. Coordinate with the appropriate internal or external competent authority to obtain approvals for program modifications, waivers, or authorizations for program-related activities. Provide technical guidance and expertise to subordinate, supported, and supporting organizations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP-SECRET security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Investigation must have been completed within the last five years in order to perform the duties of the position.
• May be required to undergo polygraph and urinalysis testing.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license.
• Temporary duty (TDY) travel is required 25% or less of the time.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
