About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Financial Management Analyst for the SDDC Resource Management Directorate, Accounts Reconciliation Team, providing financial policy guidance, analyzing and reconciling command-level financial reports, resolving issues, and implementing requirements.

Duties

Provide financial policy guidance to ensure compliance with regulations. Analyze command-level financial reports to identify discrepancies and trends. Reconcile financial accounts to ensure accuracy and alignment with policies. Resolve financial issues by implementing corrective actions and best practices. Implement financial requirements to maintain organizational compliance. Develop financial procedures to enhance efficiency and control. Advise management on financial matters to support decision-making. Monitor financial activities to detect and prevent errors or fraud. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation. Prepare reports and briefings to communicate financial status and findings to personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position may require some Temporary Duty (TDY) travel – approximately 10%.
  • This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 2 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action.
  • This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Interpreting financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement; 2) Preparing and/or presenting financial reports for management, personnel, and/or government agencies; 3) Providing recommendations and solutions on compliance financial matters, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and internal controls; and 4) Providing financial management accounting advice and recommendations to Command program managers and budget analysts regarding operational efficiency issues in current and future financial activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsComplianceConcepts, Policies, and Principles of AccountingFinancial Management Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
