You will serve as a NUCLEAR BUSINESS OPERATIONS DIVISION MANAGER in the NUCLEAR BUSINESS AND STRATEGIC PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will act as adviser and consultant to the Department Head on business policy matters. You will administer the shipyard’s interface with nuclear customers and coordinating responses to these customers. You will authorize work and administer funds for work on ships. You will coordinate mid and long-range actions for improvement of shipyard management and operations. You will make frequent presentations to Shipyard senior management in various forums for the purpose of eliciting support for specific programs and decisions on business issues. You will supervise and direct subordinate staff in the planning and scheduling of work.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience with business operations to forecast workload, determine resource requirements, or adjust financial strategies for supporting effective modernization, maintenance, repair, or inactivation of nuclear ships or submarines. .
