About the Position: These positions will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) for the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), Fort Leavenworth, KS.
Duties
Establish and maintain office records required for the efficient operation of the office.
Prepare requests and authorizations for Department of Defense (DoD) personnel business travel in Defense Travel System (DTS).
Coordinate travel arrangements, to include travel orders, developing itineraries, scheduling appointments for passport and visa procurement, etc.
Compute air fare, per diem, lodging costs, etc. for cost estimates requested by customers.
Create and update operational schedules and maintaining long and short term calendars.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) is required up to 5%.
- A fully qualified typist is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative office support to include: researching regulations, tracking task due dates, utilizing computer software programs to prepare reports, and reserving travel accommodations using an online system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, at the GS-6 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
