About the Position: Serves as the Supervisor for five facility support assistants in the Army University (ArmyU) performing facilities management, maintenance, personnel security, physical security, safety, energy conservation and environmental compliance programs for nine separate large campus buildings and adjacent areas covered within the AmyU footprint at Fort Leavenworth.

Duties

As a Supervisory Facility Support Assistant, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Schedules shifts, training, teaching, counseling, performance reviews, and development plans for the employees. Maintains Internet based personnel security and access control databases for faculty, support staff, students and contractor personnel. Ensures entries in databases are current, accurate and contains up-to-date access control information. Implements building access restrictions as required and ensures controls comply with applicable regulations, guidelines, and the Provost's guidance. Performs periodic inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with maintenance, physical security, safety, energy conservation, and environmental regulations, guidelines and directives. Provides security and maintains situational awareness for a variety of Garrison and CAC special events. Prepares incident reports and conducts fact finding investigations for occurrences of breach of security, safety violations, or other extraordinary occurrences.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess a typing skill, but less than that required for a qualified typist.
  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to work outside during inclement weather.
  • Must wear a uniform.
  • Shift work is required in this position as well as work on weekends and/or holidays. In the event of an emergency (e.g., inclement weather, disaster coverage, etc.), employee may be required to report for duty outside of scheduled shift.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must be fully qualified to operate a government vehicle.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in the operation of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and basic first aid.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 5% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • May be required to complete a One year Supervisory probation if not previously completed.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
