About the Position: Serves as the principal Administrative Support Assistant for the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate.
Eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework".
Duties
Serves as the principal Administrative Support Assistant for the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate.
The organization expert on the Defense Travel System (DTS), handling all aspects of travel arrangements and preparing travel vouchers.
Timekeeper for the Directorate.
Government Purchase Card Holder for the Directorate; maintaining office supply inventory and ordering of supplies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position requires a qualified typist.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Preparing and reviewing various types of correspondence for proper format, conformance with procedural instructions, grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.; 2) Preparing travel itineraries, orders, vouchers utilizing an automated travel system such as Defense Travel System (DTS); 3) Managing organizational calendar, arrange meetings, and setting up conference space; AND 4) Managing time and attendance utilizing and automated system such as Automated Time, Attendance, and Production System (ATAAPS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
