The incumbent administers various programs related to Member safety and security, including the Residential, Travel, and Cybersecurity Programs, as well as the Law Enforcement Coordination (LECOR) Program. Duties are executed in concert with the District Security Service Center; the SAA entity responsible for maintaining contact and security management of Congressional District Offices. This is a non-supervisory position. Starting salary is between $77,000 and $95,000.

Duties

Duties: Serves as a primary liaison between the SAA, the United States Capitol Police (USCP), other Federal agencies, and security vendors regarding Residential, Travel, Cybersecurity, and LECOR initiatives. Processes program enrollment requests for Members and coordinates security program operations. Represents the SAA in partner agency command and operations centers. Facilitates the timely exchange of security related information. Coordinates law enforcement coverage of Member related events and monitors events for disruption or security concerns. Acts as an advocate on behalf of Member offices to ensure effective delivery of security services. Educates Member office staff on SAA and House policies related to Member security programs. Audits purchase orders and invoices to ensure compliance with SAA requirements. Builds a positive working relationship with Congressional staff and refers staff to appropriate House organizations, when necessary. Notifies Members of Congress and Congressional staff of resources available through the SAA Office. Maintains accurate database information and situational awareness of all security programs pertaining to Member security and threat mitigation. Utilizes technology solutions, such as geospatial software and databases to effectively monitor implementation of security programs. Supports the Deputy Assistant Sergeant at Arms for Member Security and Threat Mitigation and coordinates projects to further the goals of the SAA Office. Provides updates to SAA leadership, as needed. Provides support during off duty hours. The incumbent may be required to return to his/her assigned duty station or work remotely to provide support to the House, its personnel and/or facilities, particularly during crisis periods, or to address requirements for assessing received threats and implementing required security procedures to prevent or mitigate any resulting consequences. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The incumbent has a broad understanding of the SAA organization and all applicable legal requirements, House rules, Committee and SAA policies. The incumbent has demonstrated knowledge of security coordination and law enforcement principles and technology to facilitate the delivery of security services to various stakeholders. The incumbent must have the ability to provide high level customer service. The incumbent must have the ability to keep abreast of key security projects. The incumbent must have excellent oral and written communications skills, strong organizational skills and strong database/computer skills. The incumbent must be able to maintain a professional and courteous work disposition. The incumbent must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within the Congressional community. The incumbent must have the ability to listen carefully and respond in a tactful and courteous manner to requests and inquiries from Members of Congress, Congressional staff, law enforcement partners and the general public. The incumbent must have the ability to work well under pressure, maintain deadlines, exercise discretion and sound judgment while independently solving problems and assisting colleagues with challenges. The incumbent must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Work Schedule: Full-time, permanent, weekends required. Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday off. The incumbent may be required to work outside of their normal business hours. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant work experience. Security and/or customer service experience required. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal history records check. Active Top-Secret security clearance preferred. Ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance required.
