Duties

Plan, direct, and carry through to completion major manufacturing and test equipment design projects requiring the design of a wide variety of special tooling, and test equipment. Schedule the work to provide effective utilization of lower grade designers assigned to the projects and to provide for efficient accomplishment of the projects to meet established completion dates. Conduct and direct the preparation and maintenance of complete manufacturing equipment design packages, including tooling designs, machine modifications, operation drawings, and calibration procedures. Prepare periodic progress reports for each assigned project showing percentage of completion, actual accomplishments, problem areas, and reason for any significant deviations from planned progress. Maintain liaison with engineers, technicians and personnel of other arsenal elements, other government agencies and private industry to keep abreast of latest engineering requirements.
