The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.

Duties

Serve as a technician who accomplishes work of unusual difficulty and responsibility which has demonstrated technical innovation and recognized attainment. Develop new methodology and procedures which result in precedents for others to follow, patents, or overcome technical barriers. Incumbent is assigned to major projects or programs and/or functions as technical expert with laboratory level recognition. Presents technical information to project engineers, customers, and VIP’s. The position requires the employee to operate a 30-ton crane. The incumbent must possess the applicable license(s) or authorization(s) to operate assigned equipment.

Requirements

• The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R
• Three-year trial/probationary period may be required.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
