The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.
Duties
Develop new methodology and procedures which result in precedents for others to follow, patents, or overcome technical barriers.
Provide services to engineering activities related to initial design, design changes and manufacturing methods to foster relationships within Benet Laboratories and other government agencies.
Gather pertinent technical requirements to carry out projects for the design, development and product engineering of weapon systems and cannon components.
Serve as a technician who accomplishes work of unusual difficulty and responsibility which has demonstrated technical innovation and recognized attainment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R
- Three-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
