You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) of NAS PATUXENT RIVER.

Duties

You will review system requirements and designs and analyze IT System alternatives. You will develop plans for implementation of life cycle management. You will troubleshoot end user software and hardware.

• This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 44 and as a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with SECNAV M-5239.2,
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing system requirements from systems analysis documentation. 2.Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing guidance to system developers3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Developing recommendations for projects and studies with board impact for consideration at high levels to improve system efficiencies. 4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Debugging software applications to meet technical and functional requirements. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Managing IT resources; 2) Managing IT budget and IT resources; 3) Coordinating and developing IT solutions and training for customers in courteous, professional and helpful manner; 4) Representing command IT interests with higher headquarters, recommending courses of action and strategies to solve IT issues; 5) Understanding and enforcing Information Assurance (IA) policies; and 6) Tracking and completing data calls and reports internal to the command and with higher headquarters.
