You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist in the Digitial Analytics Information and Technology Advancement Group, Digital Network and Application Department, of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties

You will assist customers in responding to any inquiries received from higher review authorities regarding cyber security related elements of submitted documentation. You will maintain knowledge and understanding of advances in hardware, software, tools and techniques related to information architecture design and IT infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership to integrated team members in support of agency mission and project/program goals. You will ensure effective and efficient maintenance and operations workflow and practices to help improve availability and performance of systems and dependent environment. You will oversee Information Technology acquisition, deployment, and management of Information Systems for multiple networks across multiple distant sites. You will provide day to day operational support for Information Technology infrastructure. You will do all other tasks/duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code System Administer, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. 2. I have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DS-05) or grade level (GS-12/13) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Demonstrating working knowledge of current acquisition laws, regulations, and practices sufficient to take procurement action analyses within the acquisition streamlining guidelines; 2) Providing technical support in all cyber security areas; 3) Assisting customers in responding to any inquiries received from higher review authorities regarding cyber security related elements of submitted documentation; 4) Developing and coordinating test plans focused on cyber security requirements for evaluation technologies, 5) Monitoring all systems/networks and assisting to resolve complex issues in network software and hardware; and 6) Researching and making recommendations in all areas of Information Technology acquisition investments.
