You will serve as a Supervisory IT Specialist (Network) Branch Head in the Digital Analytics Information and Technology Advancement Group, Digital Networks and Application Department, Network Operations Division NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties

You will assist customers in responding to any inquiries received from higher review authorities regarding cyber security related elements of submitted documentation. You will provide operations and maintenance support, system upgrades, security application, architecture and general management for servers, databases and applications residing in facilities. You will provide classified and unclassified operating system, application, database and web administration support for all systems and servers residing in laboratories. You will coordinate and/or assign work assignments to subordinates, based on organizational priorities, selective consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and/or capabilities of employee You will maintain oversight of all routers, firewalls, switches, boundary authentication devices, wireless and physical cable plants. You will do all other tasks/duties as assigned.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (IT Project Manager), proficiency level (Basic) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. 2. I have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NM-04) or grade level (GS-13/14) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Monitoring all systems/networks and assisting to resolve complex issues in system/network hardware and systems; 2) Coordinating and/or assigning work assignments to subordinates, based on organizational priorities, selective consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and/or capabilities of employee; 3) Researching and making recommendations in all areas of Information Technology acquisition investments. Oversee Information Technology acquisition, deployment and management of Information Systems for multiple networks across multiple sites; 4) Providing operations and maintenance support, system upgrades, security application, architecture and general management for servers, databases and applications residing in facilities; 5) Performing local and remote access support and troubleshooting and technical support in all cyber security area; and 6) Carrying out the full range of combined technical and administrative supervisory duties including effective personnel conflict resolutions, mentoring, performance evaluations, and award recommendation.
