About the Position: Serve as an Operations Officer responsible for overall planning and coordination of support operations within the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9 (ODCS, G-9).
Duties
Serve as a focal point for staff coordination such as dissemination of information.
Research data, prepare fact sheets and/or develop briefings as required.
Responsible for managing the operational schedule of the Director.
Provide complex management solutions or recommendations to the Director on all operational programs/projects assigned.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary Travel Duty may be up to 5%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience required for the GS 12: One year of specialized experience assisting senior leaders during their visits for various conferences or meetings; providing recommendations to leadership on the organization of events or activities; and assisting in evaluating diverse issues and/or receiving input for these issues from various sources.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Specialized Experience required for the GS 13: One year of specialized experience coordinating plans and/or strategies for the integration of operations and long-range projects; developing plans of action for future requirements by reviewing current methods/procedures; preparing various forms for leadership to use for functions such as: documents, speeches, position papers, or briefings; and coordinating conferences or meetings with senior leaders.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
