You will serve as a DRIVERS TRAINING MASTER INSTRUCTOR in the BASE SAFETY DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Your focus will be the Heavy Equipment Licensing and Training Program for the installation.
Duties
You will assist the Drivers Training Manager in conducting a continuous and comprehensive motor vehicle mishap prevention program for all Marine Corps Base commands, MCCDC and organizations and tenant activities on base and in the Capital Region.
You will assist the Drivers Training Manager with the Commands Private Motor Vehicle Safety Program.
You will instruct a comprehensive Motorcycle Safety course for the command and surrounding area.
You will maintain and update a variety of specialized driver training courses designed to prepare operators for local licensing including explosives/ Hazmat transport, emergency vehicle operations, school bus, tractor trailer and other courses.
You will conduct field surveys in conjunction with the SDWG of streets and roads in the region providing information on forms and written explanations of findings.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position requires clean driving record with no major driving infractions in the previous 3 years (DWI, DUI. Reckless Driving) and no more than two lesser infractions in the previous three years.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Class A commercial driver license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an AAA and NSC accreditation to teach their respective driver improvement program (DIP) and DIP instructor courses.
Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and coordinating a traffic safety and motor vehicle prevention program, instructing all driver training courses, providing advice to supervisors and management, preparing reports identifying unsafe condition with recommendation for corrective action and establishing methods and techniques to control or eliminate motor vehicle hazards.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and coordinating a traffic safety and motor vehicle prevention program.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
