About the Position: This position is with the HQDA OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF, located at Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Assist the Chief Strategic Initiatives Group by providing policy guidance such as broad, general direction, scope and objectives of assigned programs.
Serve as a functional expert and primary consultant for strategic planning on selected national security issues focusing on Human Resources and Human Capital issues.
Maintain contact and partnership with academic institutions, "think tanks" and other public and private sector organizations involved in national security issues.
Advance concept plans for implementation, resourcing, and the development of analytics to determine potential success and impact of the initiative.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TDY may be required up to 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing strategic planning initiatives within the agency and/or outside the agency; developing Strategic Plans or Annual Reports for organizational review; overseeing boards to direct groups for manpower and human capital development; leading team collaboration to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
