About the Position: Serves as the Army Traffic Safety Training Program (ATSTP) Program Manager and is responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping and direction of the ATSTP and other Army Ground Loss Prevention project initiatives, located in Fort Novosel, AL.
Duties
Serves as the technical expert on Army ground loss prevention, with emphasis on motorcycle safety and training.
Manages the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping and direction of the Army Traffic Safety Training Program (ATSTP) and other Army Ground Loss Prevention project initiatives.
Applies an extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, methods and practices.
Requires a broad planning background and experience in various functions.
Applies a full in-depth understanding of Army safety policies, procedures, the authorization/appropriation processes.
Serves as the primary point of contact with other external agencies on assigned safety programs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising staff and leadership on matters concerning investigations and alternative action proposals; conducting studies and safety trainings of policy or program proposals on ground loss prevention initiatives; providing recommendations to critical programs that require modification of known safety management doctrine, regulations and techniques; and preparing correspondence utilizing safety databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
