About the Position: Serves as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager in the U.S. Army Combat Readiness (USACRC), located at Fort Novosel, AL.

Duties

Collaborate with Operations Research and System Analysis Division. Subject matter expert on aviation system safety management, acquisition framework, aircraft life cycle, accident investigation process, and system safety assessments. Implement, direct, and oversee system safety programs to ensure successful integration into all phases of Army acquisition, training, and operations. Utilize Army Aviation policies, procedures, and ability to serve as the primary point of contact with other external agencies on assigned programs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing tools, policies, processes, and/or guidance for identifying hazards and controls through the integration of risk management; analyzing information in areas such as, accident investigation, technical evaluations, safety studies, hazard assessments, and test analysis in order to identify trends in system safety program; and reviewing project progress, by measuring performance, and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain overall program objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Compliance Inspection and Program ManagementOral CommunicationSafety and Health Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
