This position serves as a Program Analyst in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Southwest Region, Office of Policy, International Affairs & Environment (APL), Office of National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA). The position reports to the Executive Operations Manager.
Duties
Provides staff support to the Regional Administrator (RA) and Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA) in dealings with Congressional officials and staff, representatives of foreign governments, aviation community, industry officials, the media, and the public on a variety of aviation related matters.

- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
- Temporary assignment NTE 1 year.
- May be extended, made permanent or terminated early.
- This position is not remotely sited and not 100% telework.
- This is a bargaining unit position. This position is represented by NATCA Multi-Unit.
- Moderate Risk (5): This position requires completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation prior to appointment, unless a waiver is obtained. Subject to a 5 year period reinvestigation.
Qualifications
To qualify at the FV-I level, candidates must have One Year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (FG/GS-12, FV-H) that is typically in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience include a comprehensive knowledge of the FAA organization, policies, and operational requirements to integrate FAA programs within the region and to represent FAA to Congressional staff, aviation community, industry officials, media, and the public.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Knowledge, Skill, and Ability (KSAs): As a part of the Federal-Wide Hiring Reform Initiative (streamlining the hiring process), the FAA is committed to eliminating the use of the Knowledge, Skills and Ability (KSA) narratives from the initial application in the hiring process for all announcements.
