About the Position: The incumbent monitors, administers and manages various programs to provide direct support to members in the United States Army, with emphasis upon the United States Army Reserve.

Duties

Participates in test procedures for mobilized reservists and retirees called to active duty for emergency or mobilization. Coordinates, screens, and publish orders to bring on Soldiers for voluntary tours. Reviews Army doctrine, military code and legislative enactments that impact mobilization plans, policies, procedures, and Army platforms. Utilizes a thorough knowledge of DOD/DA regulation, policies, and procedures, regarding reserve assignment, mobilizations, tours, pay, entitlements, placement, transition center operation in analysis and decision making. Coordinates briefings, updates command and staff officers of major changes, and provides briefing material for visiting dignitaries. Updates training handbooks, standard operating procedures, manuals, army regulations, and directives. Coordinates directorate staff officers in mobilization programs, exercises and contingency operations, administrative and physical support requirements for current operations. Monitors special budgetary allowances to insure the efficient and proper utilization designated funds. Prepares documentation and administrative procedures for various mobilization tours.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience Required: To qualify based on your resume, the resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes and prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: I have one year of specialized experience that includes provides accurate and timely guidance regarding reserve regulations, policies, procedures, and precedent decisions; evaluates recommendations for changes to existing personnel and or mobilization systems of Individual Mobilization Augmentees personnel reports and brief management of analysis results; ensure all military personnel management procedural and administrative tasks are performed in accordance with regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
