This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs, .
As a Supervisory HIS (Deputy Group Director), GS-0107-15, you will serve as a technical expert
and advisor to CMS leadership at the Office and Agency level on all facets of the regulation's
development process.
Duties
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of
assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Oversees the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling the resources required to ensure the
timely, accurate, and cost-effective accomplishment of Agency priorities.
Leads the economic impact on small businesses, costs, savings, and effectiveness of draft regulations as required
by RFA, the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement and Fairness Act and other relevant acts and Executive Orders.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Managing regulation components that impact major healthcare programs to include Medicare, Medicaid, Children's Health programs, and Affordable Care Act at Federal, State, and local levels; 2) Providing comprehensive analysis on research and emerging/precedent issues relative to Medicare, Medicaid, Children's Health programs, and the Affordable Care Act; 3) Directing the development of nationwide health insurance policy and program initiatives in accordance with federal regulations such as the Administrative Procedure Act (5 U.S.C. 551-553); the Regulatory Flexibility Act (5 U.S. C. 601-612); and Executive Orders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
