This position is part of the Plant Operations, Government Publishing Office in Washington,
District of Columbia.
Duties
Use knowledge of the latest technology as it relates to printing, binding, and information dissemination to advise and fulfill customer requests.
Provide advice to customers regarding new contract requests and participates in ore-bid and subsequent conferences as necessary to achieve a clear understanding of customer requirements.
Serve as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR); reports to management and/or identify inadequacies and request corrective action.
Work with Agency Publishing Services in planning contracts and related matters.
Develop and write statement of work from customer requirements.
Requirements
- You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Non-Sensitive/Low Risk security clearance.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
Qualifications
To qualify for the Printing Services Specialist, PU - 1654 - 13, you must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must meet specialized experience at the PU-12 or equivalent grade level or higher. Duties include: GS/PG Specialized Experience includes: (1) developing production plans based on the most economical methods of manufacturing; (2) recommending changes and procedures necessary to implement policy pertaining to planning and scheduling printing and binding work; and (3) preparing and maintaining daily/weekly/and or monthly production reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft excel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (09/20/2024) to be considered.
Education
There is no substitution of Education for Specialized Experience at this grade level.
