This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, in the Office of Currency Manufacturing. As a Deputy Printing Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of operations and fulfillment of production for the Washington, DC, and Beltsville Facilities which Manufacture US currency and other securities.
Duties
The BEP is currently in the process of having a new facility built in Beltsville, MD and expect to move to the new facility within the next 5 years. If selected, you may be sent and/or reassigned to the new Beltsville facility. By applying to this position, you understand this potential requirement.
As a Deputy Printing Officer, you will:
Coordinate, plan, and schedule the production of products and ensures delivery deadlines are met on schedule and within cost, quality, and productivity parameters.
Prepare short-range and long-range production plans for management use in projecting staff, material, and equipment requirements, to maximize resource utilization within the facility.
Develop, direct, coordinate, and evaluate administrative policies and programs for providing essential support services to the facility.
Manage a multi-million-dollar budget to produce billions of dollars of currency annually.
Work one-on-one and as a team with the managerial staff and union partners to assemble and evaluate options.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized for this position includes experience:
Supervising or leading within a printing facility either for the government or private industry; AND
Developing, implementing, and tracking performance metrics for manufacturing operations; AND
Performing production control work in a large printing plant or manufacturing facility.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
