You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the Inventory Capacity Management Branch, Consolidated Materials and Service Center (CMSC) of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments to determine the placement of containers in and out of the warehouse. You will load and unload materials for routing to storage areas. You will store items following material handling techniques for easy retrieval, convenience in handling, protection from damage, and ease of movement. You will interpret requirements to determine safe stacking height of materials in warehouse. You will examine material to determine the condition, handling, packaging, and shipping of items requiring special handling or documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You are required to possess a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license up to 6,000 lbs within 30 days of entrance on duty.
  • You may be required to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds. May handle heavier items with wright lifting equipment or with assistance from other workers.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of without more than normal supervision. Duties of this position include: Loading, unloading, storing, and disposing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
