You will serve as a Materials Handler within the Consolidated Materials and Service Center, Inventory Capacity Management Branch at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
Duties
You will handle or oversee a segment of a large warehouse or serve as the employee in a smaller warehouse.
You will perform the full range of material handling and warehousing functions.
You will ship, receive, store, segregate, and inventory materials.
You will read and interpret shipping documents and other documentation used to move, store, and track materials.
You will operate motor vehicles and Material Handling Equipment.
You will work with automated supply and/or inventory systems.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Class C driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license up to 6,000 pounds within 30 days after onboarding.
- You will frequently lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds
- You must be able to distinguish basic colors.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is having the ability to perform the work of a Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience, working under normal supervision receiving, issuing, handling, storing, and inventorying, supplies, equipment, and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; documenting discrepancies; reading shipping and tracking documents; complying with prescribed proper handling and storage procedures; operating motor vehicles and materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks; reading and understanding a warehouse plan.
