About the Position: About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.

Duties

Apply aviation training concepts, methodologies, and techniques. Review training needs and deficiency documents to evaluate the feasibility, practicality, and soundness of proposals. Monitor and approve engineering and technical proposals of the materiel developer and various contractors to assure the final products meet established performance requirements of training objectives. Provide training expertise and advice in determining the needs, alternate and/or finalization of instructional device/simulator proposal. Recommend the selection, design, development, and procurement actions based on immediate and long-range goals.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • May be required to travel TDY 10% of the time.

Developing and acquisition of training devices such as synthetic flight training systems, procedural trainers, and associated proponent training support packages which require extensive research and development. Examples of these instructional devices include synthetic flight training systems, task and procedural trainers, and associated proponent training support packages. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
