This position is located in the Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), in Atlanta, Georgia. The incumbent performs a range of administrative, clerical, and technical program support functions which facilitate the overall accomplishment of OCR's mission and goals.
Duties

We encourage you to read this entire vacancy announcement prior to submitting your application.As a Program Support Specialist GS-0303-07, you will be responsible for:• Reviews all incoming correspondence & determines proper action. Based on the subject matter, referrals to appropriate point of contact.• Establishes & maintains files & prepares correspondence. Assists in maintaining records & updating databases.• Assists supervisor with basic complaint intake functions, preparing the case file for each complaint, entering information about the complaint in to the Case Management System & uploads each complaint to the Document Management System. • Compiles information & provides a status of various program activities, such as workload. Composes & maintains status reports.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements
You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-07, if you possess the specialize experience.
One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-06 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1. Experience accessing databases to retrieve information to identify, consider and resolve issues or problems.2. Experience producing a wide range of documents and reports in an automated system.3. Experience implementing organization, vision, mission, objectives and policies in an office setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). 1. Ability to communicate orally & in writing.2. Skill in the use of office automation systems. 3. Knowledge of intake processes to identify, consider and resolve issues or problems related to intake.4. Knowledge of administrative program objectives & requirements.
You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-08, if you possess the specialize experience.
One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-07 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1. Experience establishing and modifying internal tracking systems for internal and external requests and correspondence control. 2. Experience developing standard operating procedures and user guides for office automation procedures.3. Experience in using office automation tools in support of a senior professional or specialist.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). Education
Education cannot be substituted for experience for this position and grade level.
