This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. About the Position: This position is located at Medical Records Administrator PAD, Coding Compliance Office Keller Army Community Hospital 900B Washington Rd, RM G43 West Point, NY 10996.

Duties

Counsel military personnel from all branches of the uniformed services, retirees, and the Families of those being processed through the Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (ADPES). Refer personnel to appropriate agencies to obtain counseling/guidance on benefits. Prepare and facilitate training on the Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (ADPES) processes and procedures. Identify problems and recommend changes to command policies and improvements to processes and services provided to service military members and their Families. Plan work to be performed by subordinates lead specialists of a staff of two or more, sets and adjust priorities, and prepare schedules for work completion. Provide, reports, briefings, and respond to inquiries from senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must successfully complete the 6I-F4/340-F3 Training and Certification Course within 180 days of appointment and annually thereafter

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) applying policies, regulations and/or directives applicable to a disability evaluation system; 2) planning and/or preparing medical evaluation board processing and/or disability reevaluations; and 3) Experience conducting briefings or training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
