You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST (UNDERSEA SYSTEMS PROJECT MANAGER) in the Resources, Requirements and Assessments Department (N8) of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP EIGHT.

Duties

You will be conducting detailed analysis of Naval Special Warfare (NSW) mission requirements, threat assessments, operational force capabilities, and manpower requirements. You will utilize research and evaluation of current capabilities against future expected requirements and capability gaps. You will establish project management life cycle processes of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing of projects. You will perform expert assessments on technology readiness including safety, suitability, and effectiveness. You will review recommendations for increased capabilities and supports detailed mission analysis to form recommendations on determination of need. You will serve as Contracting Officer representative (COR) for Undersea Systems programs. You will advocate for relevant technology program changes for primary and supporting mission areas of responsibility, specific or related to DCS.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Identifying short term and long-range problems/discrepancies in the acquisition process, as well as independently resolving different viewpoints regarding the best means of pursuing solutions in support of command requirements; Experience with Navy or Special Operations Force undersea operations/maintenance.
