You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will act as the lead for assigned Depot quality program(s) with responsibility for management and implementation and accountability for program effectiveness.
You will serve as the command’s subject matter expert on their assigned program(s) and be responsible for developing and maintaining local instructions or command procedures to ensure program effectiveness.
You will establish and execute plans for program implementation, coordinating with affected production and support activities to ensure the program plan addresses their needs and priorities while meeting program requirements and command goals.
You will manage program related training, qualifications, and certifications including leading practice drills and practical examinations, as required, and recording results in the designated system of record.
You will define and monitor program performance metrics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities and taking action to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the assigned program.
You will assess all non-conformities discovered during audits and routine program performance to determine risk and the need for root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
You will develop, draft, submit and present multi-purpose reports, letters, memoranda, detailed plans, point papers etc., order to demonstrate, inform, generate, task, analyze, develop, assess or convince the recipients.
You will determine the best methods to summarize and present the data based on the programs and the data to be presented.
You will collect internally and externally generated data for analysis in order to determine the adequacy of quality and reliability operations to detect weaknesses and to predict major causes of failure as it applies to the assigned program(s).

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Must possess in-depth knowledge of NAVAIR instructions, NAMP policies, and industry standards related to Training and Certification and Tool Control programs. 2) In-depth knowledge and experience conducting quality audits and investigations, analyzing the results and developing recommendations for corrections and improvements. 3) Ability to assess non-conformities discovered during audits and routine program performance to determine risk and the need for root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 4) Strong knowledge and skill in quality program planning and management including management of program-related training and qualifications. 5) Detailed knowledge of technical writing and developing instructions for process control.
6) Broad knowledge of industrial processes requires for aircraft manufacturing and maintenance including a general understanding of tools, equipment, machines, metallurgy, electrochemical processes, and non-destructive inspection.
