You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the INDUSTRIAL QUALITY DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will plan, organize, and direct the activities of assigned Industrial Quality Department Branch, ensuring that assigned branch complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. You will conduct quality audits and investigations, analyzing the results and developing recommendations for corrections and improvements. You will ensure that verification of essential quality requirements is accomplished, deficiencies are properly documented, and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence. You will plan and schedule work in a manner that motes a smooth flow, even distribution and adjust short-term priorities to meet schedules. You will establish manpower requirements and negotiate with Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to ensure adequate Quality Assurance (QA) support. You will identify requirements and initiate requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives. You will evaluate performance of subordinates, give instructions, provide advice, and counsel to subordinates on performance, technical, and administrative matters. You will hear and resolve complaints at the lowest level, referring grievances and serious complaints not resolved to higher level supervision. You will provide continuing assistance to all areas to resolve product/process quality issues, to implement process improvements, and to identify and resolve safety related issues/violations.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience conducting quality audits and investigations, analyzing the results and developing recommendations for corrections and improvements. 2) Experiencing reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical data associated with the production and manufacturing process. 3) Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, instructions, and technical manuals. 4) Experience with data collection procedures and information gathering techniques. 5) Ability to ensure that verification of essential quality requirements is accomplished, deficiencies are properly documented, and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence. 6) Ability to provide assistance to resolve product and process quality issues, to implement process improvements, and to identify and resolve safety related issues and violations. 7) Ability to plan, organize, and direct the activities of personnel, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring customer requirements are satisfied.
