The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 700th Air Support Squadron, Network and Vulnerability Management (NVM) Team.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 700th Air Support Squadron, ensuring that cybersecurity and support complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Represents the 700 ASUS - NVM with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Determines mission requirements, recognizes and analyzes trends and provides instruction and orientation services.
Performs as a senior Cyber Mission Assurance specialist, participates in leadership discussions, meetings, committees, or special projects. Presents clear, concise, and well-structured presentations that address the designated issues.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.

Qualifications

Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes application of systems, plans and coordinates all phases of the acquisition, implementation, and integration of IT communications and assets; plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization, multi-mission Enterprise services provided directly and substantially impact the provision of essential support operations.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of IT cybersecurity principles, concepts, and methods to investigate, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents within a computer network environment or enclave. Know to integrate information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge of IT security principles, policies, products and services to assess risk factors and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g. destructive programs/applications/viruses, unauthorized access, disruption of services, espionage) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
6. Knowledge of commonly applied telecommunications principles, concepts, and methodologies, operating characteristics and capabilities of systems, media, equipment, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess the efficiency of operations and make recommendations involving equipment and system integrity.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
