Duties

As a Supervisory Industrial Hygienist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties: Evaluates and implements policy in assigned program areas, recommend actions to achieve organizational goals, and recommend action for future programs and improvements. Plans, conducts and/or participates in special studies or task force with team members in order to provide assistance to managers as well as develop and evaluate policies in assigned program areas. Provide technical assistance and support to management in all matters relating to the planning of management programs in an effort to meet mission requirements. Assist in coordinating activities of office support staff and provides analytical support on problem definition, planning methodologies, policies, and procedures.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Serves as first line supervisor and as a recognized expert in industrial hygiene for the agency with responsibility for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs, and initiating requirements for the elimination or control of industrial environmental health hazards at their source. Directs the integration of the ICE industrial hygiene programs by preparing and/or reviewing instructions and directives to formulate policy, reconcile program differences, establish objectives, and provide procedural guidance. Functions as IH expert within National Capital on business practices, program implementation, Consultant and advisor to top level agency managers on occupational and public health matters. Conducts audits and assessments of IH and related health programs for ICE component activities. Develops metrics or other measures to evaluate Industrial Health performance. Plans, directs, and conducts special studies related to complex health problems. Develops and reviews appropriate training and development programs to meet emerging health and environmental requirements.
