The primary purpose of the position is to plan, schedule, implement, and execute a comprehensive outreach strategy for the state aimed at targeting diverse audiences, including but not limited to new and beginning farmers, organic and transitioning to organic farmers, small and limited resource farmers, women, specialty crop producers, Hispanic producers, veterans, and other special emphasis groups that are defined as traditionally underserved.
Duties
Develop, implement, and track statewide outreach plans each fiscal year.
Assist in the development of specialized publications, talking points, presentations, and other communication materials to target the needs and priorities of individualized audiences throughout the state.
Coordinate with State Public Affairs Staff to prepare appropriate outreach materials and products.
Promote and maintain working relationships with organizations, agencies, and representatives of the media and special interest groups to provide outreach information, data, and program related information to their constituents.
Educates, coordinates, and communicates through a variety of products, training, meetings, one-on-one consultation.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Applicants must meet the following Minimum Qualifications Requirement in order to be considered:
Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-11 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. This experience must include experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include:
Planning, scheduling, implementing, and executing outreach strategies in support of conservation;
Developing, implementing, and tracking statewide outreach plan(s) aimed at servicing diverse audiences and underserved populations.
OR
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience for the GS-11 level: three (3) year(s) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or LL.M., if related in human resources, social or behavioral sciences, or in such fields as business or public administration, political science, government, management, journalism, marketing, public affairs, or other fields related to the position such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock, ranch management, or rural sociology; OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of graduate-level education and experience, as described above, may be used to qualify for this position. This combination must have equipped you with the necessary knowledge and/or experience to successfully perform the duties of this position.
