About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Human Resources at Ft Leonard Wood. Ft Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Some duties are at the full performance level and closer than normal supervision is required at the lower grades.
Perform a variety of complex and sensitive actions pertaining to procurement and assignment of personnel.
Review and analyze projected gains to fill levels compared to targets.
Provide support to retiree programs such as the monthly Installation Retirement Ceremony, Retiree Activity Day, Retiree Council and other retiree assistance.
Perform a wide variety of tasks related to initial entry, advanced individual training and developmental schools for enlisted personnel and basic and advance courses for officers and warrant officers.
Analyze military personnel assignments, review projected fills, develop manning targets and recommend personnel assignments.
Ensure the operation and interface of a variety of automated systems supporting military personnel functions and operations, including E-MILPO, used to manage service members both locally and service wide.

Monitor, input, correct and maintain trainee status data on holdover, inactive, and graduate data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A qualified typist is required.
- Employee may be required to work overtime.
- Employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- Employee must be willing and able to travel away from the normal duty station, 5% of the time.

For GS-05:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: applying human resources rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for processing personnel actions. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts).
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
For GS-06:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) applying human resources Military rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for processing personnel actions; 2) performing briefs; and 3) preparing reports on strength of personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts).
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04 for the GS-05) and GS-05 for the GS06).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
