Duties

You will apply security principles, concepts, and methodologies of technical surveillance countermeasures. You will collect and maintain data, analyze threats posed to systems, and initiate appropriate investigative actions. You will analyze and research existing and potential physical and electronic threats directed towards Department of Navy worldwide. You will assist with completing electronic, visual, and physical security examinations to ascertain areas are free of technical security hazards and weaknesses. You will identify physical security vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-12 level if you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) investigative techniques to select and use the proper technical equipment and operational techniques for investigative applications and operations. You qualify for the GS-13 level if you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, organizing, and conducting on-site Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) investigations relating to facilities/infrastructures to ensure they are devoid of technical surveillance devices.
