The position manages and supervises the Operations Oversight Team Section for Financial Operations and Support and is responsible to the Director. The primary responsibility is to serve as an analyst and advisor to the Director in evaluating the effectiveness and operations of programs.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/06/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
GS-14 Specialized Experience: You must possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience, which equips you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Supervisory Financial Analyst, GS-14 position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, this specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-13 level in Federal service to qualify at the GS-14.
Examples of specialized experience include:
1) Experience with conducting or reviewing compliance with financial policy and associated reporting.
2) Conducts activities associated with detecting fraud, waste, and abuse including development and execution of VHA financial policies and VHA programs.
3) Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing work of a unit within the VHA.
Note: Evidence of specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held on your resume. You must provide work experience information such as hours per week, salary, and starting/ending dates of employment (month and year format) to establish you have one (1) full year of Specialized Experience at or comparable to the required grade level.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The incumbent's work is principally sedentary. Some work may require walking in factories, warehouses, supply dumps, and similar areas to check on inventories and the existence of, or nature of, equipment and property. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attending meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some employees may carry light items or drive a motor vehicle. No special physical effort or ability is required to do the work.
