Duties

Budget Formulation. Formulates and revises the annual budget estimate for support activities and components. Budget Execution/Control. Receives, distributes, and administers funds issued to the assigned organization, to include the annual funding program, allotments, allowances, obligation authorities, reimbursable, and other funding instruments. Budget Reporting. Responsible for the preparation of budgetary reports and narratives.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position designated Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Apply knowledge of fiscal laws, regulations, and policies to formulate, justify, and/or execute program budget. 2) Provide budgetary guidance on funding and operating requirements. 3) Understand and administer the sources, types and methods of funding. 4) Identify, analyze and resolve a range of budgetary problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Formulation, Justification & Presentation Financial Management Fundamentals & Operations of Budget Budget Execution Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
