You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Quality Assurance (QA) Group, Code 704 of the Weapons Repair Department (WRD) Code 700 of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will establish, monitor, and review quality assurance requirements associated with assigned refit work packages. You will advise project management on the status of project certification and/or problem areas that may impact or delay certification of the project or schedule. You will perform oversight reviews of Re-Entry Controls and other work packages accomplished by private contractors on projects. You will conduct investigations and analysis of assigned critical functions to assess process quality and performance.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing shipbuilding procedure. Experience with safety requirements and practices in accordance with Navy and TRIREFFAC Occupational Safety and Health policies. Experience conducting submarine maintenance and repair in the mechanical or electrical trades. Experience with Controlled Work Packages (CWP), Re-entry Control (REC) and Departure from Specification (DFS) procedures and associated opening and closing reviews/vertical audits. Experience using Microsoft Office products. Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in the Major study -- quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
