You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the TECHNICAL DEPT, REQUIREMENTS & QA VERIFICATION DIV, QUALITY VERIFICATION BRANCH of SWFLANT KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will perform quality assurance investigation analysis of processing anomalies at Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT) production areas. You will develop plans and programs for achieving and maintaining product quality throughout the item's life cycle. You will perform technical reviews and evaluations of both government and contractor technical documentation, recommending and approving proposed documentation changes as the division primary member of the SWFLANT Documentation Change Board. You will develop, implement, and maintain effective Process Monitor and Surveillance Inspection Program plans in order to effectively evaluate contractor's product assurance, manufacturing, quality, and processing systems. You will review proposed interim processing documentation changes for non-standard situations that arise and provides recommendations for approval/release of processing documentation as necessary. You will coordinate and liaise with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members, consultants, contractors, other government organizations, or private industry. You will introduce and/or implement innovative approaches to resolve unusual/difficult issues significantly impacting important policies or programs, and promote and maintain an environment of cooperation and teamwork. You will incorporate the results of problems researched into program directives covering new and innovative conceptual approaches, technologies, and methods for enhancing the assessment of quality performance, and identifying areas for improvement. You will determine the cause of discrepancies, provide solutions, and support closure of issues by positive resolution for the Quality Verification Division.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, maintaining, and monitoring quality control inspection programs for complex missile systems.
