Duties

You will develop relationships with media representatives to ensure readiness of public affairs outlets. You will produce quality photographs for publications. You will compose routine official correspondence, reports, and records on a personal computer based on information obtained from various sources and methods. You will draft responses, speeches, or other written materials for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Demonstrated experience preparing information products (i.e. photos, videos, news releases, articles, informational reports, etc.) for effective dissemination to internal/external audiences; 2) Maintaining official websites, social media accounts, and/or content management systems for public affairs information dissemination; 3) Writing news articles and/or briefs to disseminate information; and 4) Coordinating internal personnel and resources for participation in community relations events. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education


In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled
OR
Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
