You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Public Affairs Office (N02P), Office of the Chief of Staff (N02),
Military Sealift Command (MSC) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will conduct a comprehensive congressional and public affairs program for MSC including planning, designing, executing and evaluating programs
You will respond in written and oral form to information requests from Congress, the news media, specialized groups, industry partners and general publics on the command’s programs.
You will provide ongoing professional feedback quarterly to assigned personnel.
You will serve as the spokesperson for the command and supervise the preparation of speeches and presentations for the MSC commander and various senior leaders.

- Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience leading a comprehensive congressional and public affairs program aimed at educating both domestic and international audiences.
Experience planning, directing, and evaluating national and international campaigns to effectively communicate complex information regarding command missions.
Experience crafting written and oral communications to address various partners and the public, providing detailed explanations and justifications for the command's programs.
Experience overseeing and assisting with the preparation of memos, correspondence, legislative summaries, briefing materials, and information related to defense issues and maritime congressional matters.
