You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Project Engineering & Planning Branch, Engineering & Planning Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will assure that Job Summaries and Job planning products are properly prepared and reviewed.
You will assure that Project Schedules are prepared and maintained.
You will resolve problems involving work instructions, technical engineering interpretations and schedules during the planning and execution stages.
You will be responsible for the engineering aspects involved in the development, design, installation, test and performance of systems and equipment.
You will review planned work, in progress and completed work to ensure integration of the most resent and desirable engineering features.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience implementing knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines to develop procedures for production, planning, engineering, scheduling, and project management.
Experience evaluating design proposal submitted by other (including work performed within code, outside codes and contractors).
Experience applying Engineering and Planning Department standard operating methods for both technical and administrative matters.
Experience executing Project Management and assuring the integration of cost improvement and productivity measurement into planning, scheduling, directing, executing, and documenting work assigned.
Experience communicating orally and in writing to lead discussion and carry out assigned plans to a range of group settings.
FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience with the Engineering and Planning Department standard operating methods for both technical and administrative matters.
