The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a second-level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over supervisory employees assigned to the Communications and Information Directorate.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the 805th Combat Training Squadron Communications and Information Directorate.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Serves as Technical Advisor for the Communications and Information Directorate- Subject Matter Expert.
Represent the 805 CT with a variety of wing, HHQ, and functional area organizations.
Attends meeting and presents briefings.

- The employee may be recalled to duty and required to work overtime during other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings , weekends and/or holidays on an emergency basis.

- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty.
- The employee must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes Information Assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
- Position is Centrally Managed by the Cyberspace and Information Technology CFT.
Qualifications

Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes application of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including the ability to adjust work operations to meet emergencies; the ability to change program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quantity or quality of work; application of a wide range of IT principles and systems analysis concepts and techniques, new and emerging information technologies, and security methods and principles.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of IT principles and systems analysis concepts and techniques, new and emerging information technologies, and security methods and principles.
Knowledge of customers' business processes and operations to anticipate and refine functional requirements. Knowledge of concepts and principles of sequencing actions, procurement techniques and requirements, and coordination requirements involved in project controls.
Knowledge of design tools, methods, and techniques as well as life cycle management concepts, cost benefit analysis, system architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods.
Knowledge of customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to analyze requirements, develop acquisition strategies, and implement systems enhancements.
Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances, to apply internet technologies to analyze networks and the related security aspects, and predict how management can meet future requirements.
Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including the ability to adjust work operations to meet emergencies; the ability to change program requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quantity or quality of work; and the ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
