You will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist in the Command Operations Department, Security Division of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will provide assistance to the Security Officer in implementing and conducting the Personnel Security (PERSEC) program to include security training and position sensitivity classification.
You will assist in processing all new civilian hires to determine required type of personnel security investigation to be conducted.
You will develop security policy and evaluates to ensure that sensitive information, equipment, and other material is not compromised, sabotaged, stolen, misused, or subjected to terrorist, malicious mischief, or other acts of willful interference.
You will prepare necessary reports, investigate packets and maintain personnel security clearance records.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develop security policy and evaluates to ensure that sensitive information, equipment, and other material is not compromised, sabotaged, stolen, misused, or subjected to terrorist, malicious mischief, or other acts of willful interference; 2) Initiate background investigations for security clearances, access control and enrollment into the Continuous Evaluation program; 3) Share responsibility in finger printing, account management, external liaison communications; 4) Assess in the development of monthly newsletters security education and awareness training and training aids and assist in planning, conducting, evaluating, analyzing, and reporting security program issues related to Personnel Security, Foreign Travel and the Foreign Visitor processes; 5) Assist in the preparation of detailed reports which include security plans and statistical data, and make recommendations for security policies and procedures affecting security operations; 6) Assist the Activity Assistant Security Manager and staff with requests for program access are properly screened and verified, and that all necessary forms and documentation have been completed before processing for access; 7) Prepare and utilize security databases, rosters, and other tools necessary to administer the personnel security program; 8) Proactively initiate tracer actions, when required, to facilitate and determine access eligibility.
