You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Regional Force Protection Program, Operations Directorate of COMNAVREG SE JAX.

Duties

You will oversee planning, direction, and timely execution of the regional security program, and Base Operating Support (BOS) functions within Force Protection. You will review legislative change proposals, policies, doctrines, and executive correspondence for incorporation into CNRSE contracts, polices, and procedures. You will develop and maintain security polices, procedures, and practices that comply with relevant elements of criminal, civil, administrative, and regulatory law. You will establish work plan priorities and set deadlines for staff personnel. You will oversee and manage development of training requirements for Staff personnel.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Incumbent must be able to utilize regular office equipment and be able to travel via motor vehicles, train, and aircraft to various worldwide locations to accomplish his/her assignments.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing Physical Security Operations and ensuring system efficiency and effectiveness; 2) Reviewing directives, instructions, and regulations that have potential impact on Physical Security Operations; 3) Reporting data and metrics to upper management; 4) Instructing personnel in performance of tasks and ensuring established quality standards are met; 5) Providing Physical Security training and evaluations and identifying deficiencies for corrective action.
