About the Position: Protocol Coordinator within the CASCOM Sustainment Center of Excellence, (SCoE) responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and personally overseeing the proper execution of official and social functions and events for SCoE. Serves as a staff assistant to the CASCOMSCoE Office of the Commanding General, Deputy to the Commander, CofS; Quartermaster School Commandant (QMS), Deputy to Commandant, and CofS; Ordnance School (OD) Commandant, and Deputy to the Commandant.
Duties
Serves as a Protocol Specialist within the CASCOM Sustainment Center of Excellence, (SCoE) responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and personally overseeing the proper execution of official and social functions and events for CASCOMSCoE.
Responsible for accountability of funds and expenditures.
Applies knowledge of the methods, practices and techniques associated with the protocol function, as well as an in-depth understanding of national and international rules and procedures prescribing traditional and diplomatic customs.
Serves as primary custodian of the.0012 Secretary of the Army Contingency Funds and gift closet for use by the CASCOMSCoE CG.
Coordinates administrative details such as assignment of billeting, necessary transportation, and programming official entertainment.
Serves as primary custodian of the Executive Operations Conference fund.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that includes 1) coordinating visits of senior ranking leaders; 2) preparing written correspondences and other required documents for official and social organizational events; and 3) conducting briefings and presentations on protocol policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as Business Administration, Communications, Operational Management Logistics, History, Education. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your transcripts.)
