You will serve as the N3 Deputy Department Head, Technical Director/Special Projects Officer at the GG-14/Band 4 grade level. This position is located at HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will perform technical, administrative and management tasks that involve planning, directing, assigning, leading and monitoring the work of the unit. You will manage and appraise employee and organizational performance. You will discipline employees, resolve employee complaints, and support the development of employees. You will make decisions that impact the work produced by employees in the unit, and collaborate with supervisors across the organization in unstructured situations.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2.) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3.) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4.) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Also, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide assistance and advice on the planning, implementation and execution of a multi-million-dollar annual budget for IT systems and services, as well as input on IT projects, and their associated workforce; Contribute to Department strategic plans and govern information systems, as well as current and future business needs; Recommend and verify IT design and configuration standards, develop, and recommend hardware and software modernization plans, and document shared tacit knowledge.
