About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, Innovation & Technology Directorate, US Southern Command, Key West FL, 33040.
Duties
Serves as Project Manager accountable for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects.
Performs as the project team leader, interprets and implements Government decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy in project development.
Assists with the evaluation of systems prior to and during their deployment in support of JIATF South operations.
Participates as technical advisor for resolving problems in the operational demonstration and evaluation of systems and programs requiring innovative solutions.
Through direct coordination with internal and external partner organizations, responsible for development of the maritime portion of demonstration and evaluation plans that utilize J72 test vessel.
Responsible for the successful execution of the maritime portion of the plan.
Advise senior leadership on issues involving interagency relationships, emerging capabilities, and operational demonstration and evaluation activities that support and improve overall effectiveness of the mission objectives and goal.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Coast Guard Operator Uninspected Passenger Vessel (or higher) license.
- Required to pass US Coast Guard approved CPR and First Aid training and certification course (24 hours) initially and every two years.
