This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), DoD OIG - OVERSEAS CONTINGENCY OPERATIONS. The DoD OIG - OVERSEAS CONTINGENCY OPERATIONS is responsible for the conduct and oversight of investigations into allegations against senior officials within the DoD. The division also conducts reviews, surveys, and studies, when required.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment, and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
- The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.
Qualifications
Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-11 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service.
For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service
For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service.
Knowledge of evaluation standards for Federal Inspectors General to apply them in program evaluations.
Knowledge of DoD organizations, missions, functions and strategic objectives to conduct
evaluations.
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to conduct analyses of
programs.
Skill in the conceptualization and design of methodologies for evaluations and program reviews.
Expert skill in analyzing data and information to identify issues and develop conclusions and recommendations.
Specialized Experience is defined for GS-0343-11 as: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade, GS-09, or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as: knowledge of a wide range of security disciplines, concepts, principles, practices and requirements applicable to the information protection program to include: 1) Administering security programs; 2) Utilizing automated systems for collecting data and/or data entry; 3) Conducting security training and/ or briefings.
OR
A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. that may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. To be creditable, education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. (You MUST submit transcripts or proof of education to verify your claim.
OR
A combination of experience and education which, when combined, totals 100% of the necessary education and experience to qualify for this position. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience is defined for GS-0343-12 as: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as: knowledge of a wide range of security disciplines, concepts, principles, practices and requirements applicable to the information protection program to include information security, industrial security, physical security, personnel security, operations security in order to perform the full range of complex security management responsibilities.

A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B., or J.D in a field directly related to the position. OR

GS-11 Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.

is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GS-12 or higher grade level.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
